EXCURSIONS

COFFS HARBOUR

The Committee in 2000 decided it would be a great idea to get together with our Brisbane counterparts. So they organized a venue half way from each city and met in Coffs harbour. We all travelled by coach, enjoying a long coastal drive while entertainment was provided by the children singing songs in the backs of the coach. We arrived at noon, unpacked and had a rest and after a stroll to the beach and the local shops it was time to get ready for the dance that was held that evening, where everyone chatted and caught up over a meal and drinks. On Sunday, bags were packed and off we went with a stopover at the Big Banana before we headed back to Sydney promising that we would reorganize another trip in the near future.

TASMANIA

The Zarax Association decided to follow it's Coffs Harbour excursion with a trip to Tasmania, flying down and spending 7 days touring by coach around Tasmania. 50 members of the Zarax Association (and friends) made the trip down to explore the Southern state's natural, historical wonders. Highlights of the trip were a visit to Beaconsfield Mining Town, wandering around the historical site of Port Arthur, exploring Launceston, finding the murals in the town of Sheffeild and dancing at the Hellenic Club of Hobart.
